SR285 Master Plan - Public Comment Period EXTENDED
The Public Comment Period on the DRAFT SR285 Master Plan has been extended until January 31, 2011, to allow time for additional public input on the Plan. This is in advance of the Wenatchee Valley Transportation Council's regularly scheduled Executive Board meeting on February 10, 2011, at which time staff will be requesting adoption of the SR285 Master Plan. If you have any input on the DRAFT SR285 Master Plan we encourage you to let us know!
The North Wenatchee Transportation Master Plan (Plan) includes an integrated set of transportation improvements to address the range of study issues. The most significant improvements include construction of the new “Confluence Parkway” corridor and modifications to the interchanges along US 2 and SR 285. In addition, new over- and under-crossings are planned to reduce delays and conflicts between travel modes and to enhance traffic flow and safety. New major pedestrian and bicycle facilities are included, as is a new North Wenatchee Transit Center. The major improvements are supported by a wide range of other projects and programs to complete a functional multimodal transportation system to meet the existing and future travel demands and support economic development within the study corridor and throughout the region.
The Plan consists of three major components:
- US 2 Corridor
- Confluence Parkway Corridor
- North Wenatchee Avenue Corridor
The corridor improvements tie together to provide comprehensive transportation benefits to the region. The Plan was developed with public and stakeholder input and is currently available for public comment. We are seeking public input prior to January 12, 2011. Comments can be made by calling (509) 663-9059 or through the Wenatchee Valley Transportaion Council online comment form.
